Thank you, Darian and Alaska State Museum

Darian hard at work on paperwork at the Pioneer Air Museum

Darian LaTocha is a museum professional and curator who lives and works in Anchorage. He has over twenty years of museum experience ranging from the Smithsonian Institution, several tribal museums, Anchorage Museum, Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum and Aleutian Pribilof Island Association.

Most recently, Darian worked at the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum. While there he worked on cataloging projects and created new exhibitions. His recent exhibitions include The Women of World War II, The Battle of Attu, Alaska and the Great War, and First Flight; all are currently on exhibit at AAHM.

Between November 2020 and January 2021, Darian shared his experience and expertise with us here at Pioneer Air Museum. Thanks to funding from the Alaska State Museum’s Grant In Aid program, the Pioneer Air Museum was able to bring Darian to Fairbanks to assist staff and volunteers with cataloging the archives and collections, as well as helping out with ongoing museum projects.

Thank you so much to Darian and the Alaska State Museum Grant in Aid program for this opportunity. We appreciate it!
